What is I Love Dick, the Prime Video miniseries, about?
Hahn is an independent film director who is married to Sylvere (Griffin Dunne), trapped in a marriage that has hit a plateau. The restless woman accompanies her husband on a research fellowship in Texas, and upon arrival falls head over heels for his professor, an accomplished visual artist, Kevin Bacon. Hahn brings her repressed dreams and her process of liberation into play. She tries to rediscover herself away from her husband.
Bacon, in a sort of 21st century John Wayne, will join the couple to form a strange triangle from which no one can emerge unscathed. Can you have two men?
The joke in the title (Dick, as the name for the male member is) should not confuse the viewer: It is not just a carnal excursion. The story also takes the opportunity to debate and criticize art and counterculture.l.
With an interesting soundtrack, the protagonist will express her repressed feelings in writing. Writing will be her great refuge, her catharsis, her placebo.
