After Munich and Las Vegas: Adele wants a “big break” from music

After intensive months full of concerts, Adele is planning a break. The singer has announced that there will be no more music for the time being.

Since November 2022, music icon Adele (36) has been on stage in Las Vegas almost every weekend, and will continue to do so until the end of November this year. In August, the singer will also play ten concerts in Munich – her only ones in Europe. Quite exhausting, even for a superstar like Adele. No wonder the 36-year-old needs a break, as she revealed in an interview with ZDF.

“My memory is pretty empty”

As the Briton said before her mini-residency in the Bavarian capital, she wants to take a “big break” after her currently planned concerts. “My memory is pretty empty at the moment,” she said. She will never give up singing and songwriting, but there are currently “no plans for new music”. She wanted to try out other creative projects.

Being there for her fans and connecting with them is both beautiful and hard for Adele. “I miss everything from the times when I wasn’t famous yet,” says the singer in an interview with ZDF. “Most of all, being able to be anonymous. I don’t like being famous.”

20 concerts left before the break

A few years ago, Adele had already withdrawn from the public eye for several years. After 121 concerts in 2016 and 2017, the Brit had to cancel her world tour due to vocal cord problems. It was not until October 2021 – six years after her third studio album “25” – that Adele released new music again with the album “30”.

Before Adele disappears completely from the scene again, her fans can still look forward to a lot: From August 2nd to August 31st, the singer will perform a total of ten times in a pop-up stadium specially built for her at the Messe Riem in Munich; around 80,000 fans will fit into the arena each evening. From October, the singer will return to Las Vegas, where she will play ten more concerts until the end of November. The residency at Caesars Palace has been running since November 2022, but Adele had to cancel some concerts due to health problems.
