Andrea Bocelli welcomed Johnny Depp on stage at a concert. They remembered the late musician Jeff Beck with a song.
Star tenor Andrea Bocelli (65) is currently celebrating his 30th stage anniversary with the three-day event “Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration”. Concerts were held on July 15 and 17 at the Teatro del Silenzio in Bocelli’s hometown of Lajatico in Tuscany, and another is scheduled for July 19. Bocelli has already welcomed several guest stars on stage, including “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp (61).
Tribute to a close friend
The actor and musician, who plays guitar in his band Hollywood Vampires, accompanied Bocelli on the instrument. According to “TMZ”, the two performed the song “En Aranjuez Con Tu Amor”, which Depp is said to have played together with his friend Jeff Beck (1944-2023) in 2020 when they visited Bocelli. The trio is said to have also recorded the song together. “We found a way for him to be here,” Depp is said to have said on stage about the eight-time Grammy winner, who died on January 10, 2023.
In July 2022, Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck released their joint album entitled “18” as well as an official music video for the single “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr”. The duo also had several joint appearances, including in several German cities. Depp honored Beck after his death with two tribute concerts in London. The actor and guitarist performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall together with rock greats such as Eric Clapton (79) and Rod Stewart (79).
Bocelli welcomed Depp’s performance at his anniversary series. He described him not only as a charming actor with iconic roles, but also as a “real rock star who is loved and applauded everywhere.” Bocelli went on to say that he fondly remembers “playing and singing with Johnny Depp when he visited my house in Tuscany. We are delighted that this unexpected duo will perform once again – and this time publicly, which will delight his fans.”
