They sang duets together and worked together for years. Even a year after his death, Lady Gaga has not forgotten Tony Bennett.
US pop star Lady Gaga has remembered jazz legend Tony Bennett’s legacy one year after his death. Bennett, who worked with Lady Gaga for years, died in July 2023 at the age of 96.
In a post on Instagram, the 38-year-old wrote that she was grateful “(…) for the legacy of jazz music that he left behind – and for the community of jazz musicians I still work with, who all knew and loved Tony.” She added: “We will carry on and swing.”
The age difference didn’t matter
In 2014, for example, Bennett released a duet album called “Cheek to Cheek,” which he recorded with the singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta. He later developed Alzheimer’s disease.
When he died, Lady Gaga was deeply shocked. He was a true friend, she said at the time, and the age difference didn’t matter.
