Empire dresses, corsets, gloves, tiaras: The Netflix hit “Bridgerton” sparked a fashion trend after the first season was released, the so-called Regencycore. The series by “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes set new standards (and not only) in fashion. Suddenly, looks from the English Regency era, which lasted from roughly 1811 to 1820, were in fashion. And superstar Jennifer Lopez also seems to be a “Bridgerton” fan.

Last weekend, the musician celebrated her 55th birthday. Her actual birthday is on July 24th. J.Lo hosted a “Bridgerton” costume party in the Hamptons. At the entrance to the party location, Lopez’s guests were able to admire a white carriage with two white horses, which could have just as easily driven the actors and actresses from the series through the London parklands.
Photos show Guadalupe Rodríguez, Lopez’s mother, in a light blue robe with lace and other guests who also adhered to the dress code. One person was conspicuous by his absence: According to People magazine, Lopez’s husband Ben Affleck did not appear at the party. While the singer spends her summer mainly on the east coast and the Hamptons, Affleck is said to have stayed in California. Rumors about the state of the marriage have been circulating for several months.

Lopez and Affleck first became a couple in the early 2000s. They not only dominated the gossip magazines at the time, but also got engaged. But the wedding never happened, and instead they split up in 2004. The general consensus at the time was that Affleck couldn’t cope with J.Lo’s fame and saw his own career damaged by the gossip reports and their joint box office flop “Gigli.”
They found each other again in 2021, and the big wedding followed in 2022. Now the marriage seems to be in crisis. Unless Affleck simply couldn’t get into Regencycore and therefore skipped his wife’s party.
