The actor appeared alongside Keira Knightley in “Pride and Prejudice”. In an interview, he explains why he was worried during filming.
Actor Matthew Macfadyen (49) says he felt uncomfortable in his role as Mr. Darcy in “Pride and Prejudice.” “I felt a bit miscast,” the Briton said on the “CBS Mornings” show. In the 2005 film adaptation of the Jane Austen novel, Macfadyen played a leading role alongside Keira Knightley. At the time, he thought he wasn’t attractive enough for the role of Mr. Darcy, Macfadyen now explained.
The actor said he was able to enjoy filming the movie at times. “But I wish I had enjoyed it more. I wish I had worried less.” He still feels flattered when people ask him about the film today, he said.
The Brit has won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role in the drama series “Succession”. Marvel fans can currently see Macfadyen in the new anti-hero film “Deadpool & Wolverine” alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
