An auction house in England wants to auction off several cards and letters containing handwritten notes from Princess Diana. The documents were once sent to the former housekeeper of Diana’s family, reported the British news agency PA. She was the head housekeeper of Diana’s parents at Park House in Sandringham, where Diana spent several years of her childhood.
Sworders auction house plans to auction the documents next Tuesday. Most of the messages to “Collie”, as Diana called her, were thank-you notes for birthday and Christmas presents, PA reported. They often also included short notes about her life.
Insights into the life of the family
In a letter, Diana thanked her younger son Prince Harry for a gift. “William adores his little brother and spends all his time showering Harry with endless hugs and kisses.”
Princess Diana was the first wife of the current King Charles III. A letter was dated July 8, 1981, three weeks before the wedding. Everyone was incredibly busy with the final decorations, the bride remained relatively calm, says the letter, which was written on Buckingham Palace stationery. The couple later separated. Diana died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.
