Philipp Lahm rents villa at Tegernsee to fans

Many celebrities keep their private lives out of the public eye. Football world champion Lahm, on the other hand, makes an unusual offer to his fans. What’s behind the campaign.

Football world champion Philipp Lahm invites you to spend a night in his villa on Lake Tegernsee. “We can hardly wait to share the cozy atmosphere of this house and offer our guests a unique experience,” says the 40-year-old, who lives with his wife and two children in the region south of Munich.

The invitation to the cozy home is for two people on October 18th. The fun will cost 21 euros, as a reference to the jersey number of the former FC Bayern captain. The 2014 world champion will also greet the guests personally before they are served a Bavarian dinner – probably in the rustically furnished dining area in the wood-paneled bay window.

Not only with Philipp Lahm: Airbnb often works with stars

You can get a night at the Lahm house, which has often run similar promotional campaigns. Last summer, the platform briefly offered “Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse” in California, a pink luxury villa in the “Barbie” style to coincide with the release of the film of the same name. In March, there was an overnight stay in the “Secret Library” of the famous London Cathedral St. Paul’s.

Things are more dignified for the Lahm family. Photos provide an insight into the spacious house, which looks traditional from the outside, with lattice windows and a carved balcony, but has a pool inside. The bedroom is decorated in white and beige tones, as is the living room with a large sofa. In the next room, a photo of the former defender in a celebratory pose on the football pitch hangs above a fireplace, and the shelves next to it contain memorabilia such as a small replica of the World Cup trophy and photos.
