While people in warm countries can do without long clothing all year round, in this country it sometimes gets so cold in spring that we need a thin jacket even during the day – such as a trendy coat. We present you the current trends for 2024.
It doesn’t always have to be a denim jacket: this year, the light coat is conquering the catwalks of the world: whether sporty or chic, casual or feminine – the fashion trend can be combined with any look. We have summarized for you which models and cuts, colors and fabrics will be popular in 2024 in the following trend overview.
1. Trend: Trench coats
It is a timeless classic: the trench coat. You usually see it more often on autumn days, but it is just as suitable for spring. Most models are in classic beige, but there are also light coats in other colours – such as black, white or pink. With its typical button strips and the light waist belt that emphasises your feminine side, the trench coat goes with (almost) every outfit.
2. Trend: Long blazer
Admittedly, a long blazer is not a coat in the true sense of the word. However, it serves the same purpose: in combination with denim shorts and a casual T-shirt or a colorful floral dress, the extra-long piece of clothing can be skilfully showcased. 3. Trend: cardigans
Cozy cardigans are not only trendy in the cold months: in spring, too, the comfortable one-pieces can be easily and conveniently converted into a coat. The main thing is that it keeps you warm on cold days.
4. Trend: Leather coats
Most light coats are made of thin fabrics and are therefore neither windproof nor weatherproof. If you need a coat that will also protect you on cold days, leather is the better (albeit more expensive) choice. This year there are many trendy models, often with a collar and waist belt, that skilfully show off your figure. And on top of that they protect the body from wind and rain.
5. Trend: Wool coats
If you don’t like leather but are still looking for a slightly warmer jacket to throw on, you can also wear a wool coat in spring: it is thicker than a cardigan but more casual than a coat – and is therefore the ideal companion on cold days. It doesn’t matter whether it is oversized or figure-hugging. This year, dark colors are just as popular as single-colored models in gray or black, which will be among the trendsetters again next winter.
6. Trend: Rain jackets
Last but not least, this model is also one of the coat trends for 2024: Because unlike other jackets, raincoats are the only ones that reliably repel moisture. And so that you look stylish even on rainy days, this year there are many feminine cut models in bright colors, with trendy striped patterns – or very classic. The days of boring raincoats are over.
