There are 20 peaks that are over 6,000 metres high. This impressive place can be visited in a day, with several stops to enjoy incredible panoramic views of the mountain range. As it is at a high altitude, it is recommended to do so with guides and especially with 4×4 excursions that allow access via secondary roads to magical places such as the Pissis balcony, the Green lagoon or the Blue lagoon.


What activities can be done on the Route of the Seismiles, Catamarca
Trekking
A trip to one of the 4,000-meter peaks. If you have more experience, you can go on an expedition to try to reach the summit of one of the Seismiles (3 to 5 days with overnight stay in a tent).
Adobe Route
Between Tinogasta and Fiambalá, on RN 60, is the famous “Adobe Route”, a 55 km circuit that passes through small towns with large houses, ranches, chapels and churches completely built in adobe, a mass of mud and straw used in ancient constructions.
Wines and hot springs
There are several wineries in the area that produce high-quality high-altitude wines and which, with their wine tourism proposals, are part of the Wine Route.
17 km from Fiambalá, in a fantastic ravine, a thermal complex offers waters that emerge at 1750 meters above sea level and are concentrated in 14 stone pools. From Fiambalá you can access the curious Pumice fieldin the Puna, along a trail that passes through the Las Papas area (only with a local operator and in 4×4).
How to get to the Route of the Seismiles, Catamarca
The entrance doors to this circuit are Tinogasta and FiambalaThe nearest airports are those of La Rioja Capital (275 km from Fiambalá) and San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca (324 km).
The Seismiles are accessed by land transport by RN 60 (paved) which connects Fiambalá with the San Francisco border crossing (201 km away).
