Adele opened her first of ten concerts in Munich on August 2nd with a “Hello, it’s me”. The show started slightly late.
The Bavarian capital will be a pilgrimage site for fans of British megastar Adele (36) in the coming weeks. The singer will give a total of ten concerts in August in a pop-up stadium on the grounds of the Munich Trade Fair, which will accommodate more than 70,000 visitors per evening.
Fans spend the night at a gas station for Adele
The show was actually supposed to start at 7:30 p.m., but it started around 45 minutes late. In keeping with the opening, during which the singer emerged from the floor of the arena surrounded by fog, Adele greeted her fans with one of her biggest hits. “Hello, it’s me,” sang the Brit – and opened the spectacle that many had been eagerly awaiting. After “Hello,” the songs “Rumour Has It” and “I Drink Wine” followed.
Even though the queues were long beforehand and an impending storm was responsible for one or two frowns, the mood among the fans before the concert was “great”. Some visitors even spent the night at a nearby gas station. There was a safety plan in place in case of a thunderstorm, but it was apparently not used. Problems with entry and parking
The delay at the beginning was apparently caused by complications with the entrance. According to “BR24”, there were apparently problems with the devices used to scan the concert tickets. “Something went wrong,” said . There is talk of a “small technical problem” with the ticketing.
There were also minor annoyances when getting there before the first Adele evening. “There are no more parking spaces at and around the trade fair. Please make sure you travel by public transport,” said the Munich police before the concert began. But apparently not everything went smoothly on this route either. According to the “Abendzeitung”, the Munich Transport Company (MVG) had to contend with restrictions on several lines before the show.
