The production recreates the reconstruction of the memory through the conversations between the brothers, the clippings and photographs that were shown and the testimonies of the protagonists after having gone through these stages.

History tells the recovery of Alex Lewis, who suffered a motorcycle accident in 1982 and lost all his memory At 18, the young man woke up in a hospital not knowing who he was, what had happened to him or how he got there. Nothing seemed familiar until his twin brother Marcus arrived, he recognised him and immediately knew he could trust him.
Alex recalls leaving the hospital, describing: “I’m sitting in a car with a stranger, driving somewhere I have no idea where it is and being told this is my house and this is where I live.” At home, he begins to reconstruct his memories thanks to the help of his brother who showed him only part of his story. His entire family was hiding something from him but the protagonist was not alerted and found out 15 years later.
Marcus described the help he gave his brother, stating: “I would give him a picture and his imagination would do the rest. I tried not to make anything up. I just didn’t say some things. I did that until I was 32.” But Alex found out after his mother passed away, when he was able to enter the attic. There he found memories of his childhood and a photo of them naked, with their heads cut off. There it comes to light that his mother wasTheir mother abused them in their childhood and adolescenceAt this point the conflict begins over whether it was right to hide these facts.

The documentary was Directed by Ed Perkins and produced by Simon Chinn. They both learned about the Lewis brothers’ story from Joanna Hodgkin’s book Tell Me Who I Am. After reading it, they were able to contact Alex and Marcus to record the material and release it in 2013.
