Rihanna is celebrating her carnival comeback! The singer hasn’t been seen in such opulent costumes for five years; in the meantime, the corona pandemic raged and she became a mother twice.
After five years, pop star Rihanna is once again strolling in a majestic costume at the “Crop Over Carnival” in her home country of Barbados. The last time the 36-year-old appeared in a provocative carnival costume was before the Corona pandemic in 2019.
The mother of two little boys, RZA Athelston was born in May 2022, his little brother Riot Rose in August 2023, has not quite regained her old figure yet, but she doesn’t care. The singer stands by her curves and shared an honest confession with her followers last week.
In an Instagram video in which she showed off her Fenty x Puma sneakers, wore a pleated Miu Miu miniskirt and a blue button-up shirt, playfully showing off her Savage X Fenty brand’s black underwear at one point, she jokingly wrote: “Since I clearly won’t have my six-pack until next summer, I’ve changed my summer goal and now want to match shoes to my underwear!” A clear statement for more body positivity.
Rihanna was accompanied by the military at the carnival
In order to take part in the public carnival, Rihanna had to be accompanied by several soldiers with assault rifles. This was probably also to protect the opulent costume, which was studded with pheasant feathers, rhinestones and laces in the back area. The large wings were not easy to maneuver through the crowd, despite the escort. Nevertheless, Rihanna insisted on taking a photo with one or two fans.
Rihanna was a regular at the carnival in her home country until 2019 and presented a wide variety of outfits, mostly very skimpy, often decorated with a feather. So it will be interesting to see what the singer will look like next year, with or without a six-pack.
