With popular tickets at 400 pesos (200 for retirees and students), the feature film, directed by Damian Marsicano and produced by Panza Films and Medio Melón Films, was recorded over almost five years on the coast of Buenos Aires, from La Plata to Mar del Plata, passing through Córdoba, Santa Fe, La Pampa and Cusco (Peru).

“La Búsqueda” has just been screened at the Etreum Horror Film Fest in Buenos Aires, the Roswell Daily Record Film Fest in New Mexico, and will be the opening film at the UAP Film Fest in Mexico City. In addition, between now and the end of the year, it will be screened at other important film festivals in Colombia, Spain and the United States.

The special performance on Sunday 11th will be the only one in Buenos Aires for a whileas the documentary will begin its most intense period of screening at international festivals.

What is “The Search” about?

The film brings together important researchers of the phenomenon, such as Luis Burgos from La Plata, Quique Mario and Miguel Ángel Pumilla from La Pampa, Lorena Sciarratta from Rosario, among others, as well as the specialized journalist Alejandro Agostinelli. It also features the participation of witnesses of important cases in the history of national ufology, such as the pilot Jorge Polanco, protagonist of the well-known “Bariloche Case”; the truck driver Dionisio Llanca, protagonist of one of the most well-known abduction cases internationally; and the former police officer from La Pampa, Sergio Puchetta, who in March 2006 claimed to have been pursued and kidnapped by two strange entities with red eyes in a place in General Pico, La Pampa.

In addition to the classic encounters with UFOs and their crews, the film addresses other manifestations of the phenomenon, such as cattle mutilations, the existence of archaeological remains of unknown origin and even spiritualism.

“This documentary delves into the phenomenon as a multifaceted cultural expression. It does not intend to prove its existence, but rather it is based on the premise that the phenomenon is already rooted in our culture: from oral myth and cave paintings to ancient chronicles, sacred books, cinema and, of course, contemporary accounts. Under this premise, researchers and witnesses speak, giving us their points of view and their experiences, being the people who are closest to the phenomenon in the current cultural key,” explained Damián Marsicano, director of “La Búsqueda.”

Produced jointly by Panza Films and Medio Melón Films, this documentary filmmaking team, which includes Damián Marsicano, Pablo Apezteguía, Juan Pablo Corridoni and Lucky Sachetti, has experience in documentary production. In 2019, they released their first feature film “Hijos de Nadie: una película sobre Los Adolfos Rap”, which premiered at the 21st edition of BAFICI and had a long run at local and international film festivals, being a finalist, in 2024, at the Hip Hop Cine Fest in Rome.
