Introducing a new unrevealed character played by Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), the trailer reveals another world of pain for poor Joel (Peter Pascal). “What did you do?” she asks. After a montage of carnage and mayhem, Joel replies, “I saved her.”
In the first season of the series HBOthe unlikely duo formed by Joel and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) embarks on a cross-country journey to find a cure for a deadly fungal infection that turns victims into zombies (we know, we’re simplifying). The Last of Us turned out to be a huge success, even breaking viewership records during its 2023 broadcast. The series also managed to keep fans of its source material relatively happy with a faithful retelling of its dark and emotional story.
According to the latest trailer, the network does not plan to premiere the second season until 2025.
Jeffrey Wright joins the cast of The Last of Us season two
Another member of The Last of Us voice cast is joining the HBO adaptation. Jeffrey Wright has been cast in season two as Isaac, the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group, known in the video game as the Washington Liberation Front, who sought freedom but instead find themselves caught in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.
The actor lent his voice to the same character in the game The Last of Us Part II.
