Recently, one of the houses of Lionel Messi was vandalized by environmental activists by Futuro Vegetal. The facade of the mansion was scrawled and written on with red and black paint to denounce the “responsibility of the rich” in the climate crisis. This property won the award for the best holiday estate in Europe at the World’s Best Boutique Hotel Awards in 2018.

The mansion was rented for 300 thousand euros a week in high season, and it cost the footballer 11 million euros. This is an impressive 568 square meter property located on the peninsula to the west of the famous Spanish island. It is known as “Sa Ferradura”.

“Sa Ferradura” is located in a peninsula 35,000 square meters in the bay of Sant Miquel, 22 kilometers from the city of Ibiza. Lionel Messi bought it from the Russian tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov, who until 2019 was the owner of the Brooklyn Nets, one of the best-known teams in the NBA.

The house is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and protected by high cliffs which allow total privacy. It is accessed by car and does not have a dock.

The house has six rooms with capacity for 12 people, several terraces and outdoor areas. It also has a 23-meter swimming pool and another one nestled in a tropical garden, a gym and a DJ mixing deck. It has a template of 22 employeesfrom cooks to laundry staff.
