Lea Schüller and Lara Vadlau: DFB star and gold sailor are separated

Both are at the Olympics: The German national soccer player Lea Schüller and the Austrian sailor Lara Vadlau have separated.

Lea Schüller (26) and Lara Vadlau (30) are no longer a couple. Vadlau confirmed the separation of the sports stars on August 9. The sailor, who won a gold medal in Marseille on Thursday together with Lukas Mähr (34), explained: “Lea is no longer my partner.”

Of course she is very proud of her “and we are still very good friends and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for her.” The latter alludes to the fact that Schüller still has a chance of winning bronze with the German national football team at the Olympics. The decisive match against Spain is on Friday (3 p.m./ZDF).

The ex-couple had repeatedly shown their relationship in public and shared Instagram snapshots or clips. The posts can still be found on the profiles even after the separation. Before the Olympic Games, Schüller was still looking forward to taking part in the Olympics together.

Sporting successes

The Austrian sailor Lara Vadlau from Carinthia is a multiple world and European champion in the 470 class. In the 470 mixed event at the Olympics, she won the gold medal with Mähr. The duo thus gave Austria its first gold medal at these games.

Lea Schüller has been under contract with FC Bayern Munich since July 2020 and has played for the German national football team since 2017. She missed the Olympic semi-final against the USA due to inflammation of the patellar tendon, but she should be back in the match for third place. : “Captain Alexandra Popp and striker Lea Schüller are returning to the 18-man squad and would both be available for the match for third place in the Olympic football tournament today.”
