Taylor Swift: Increased security for her London concerts

Taylor Swift is returning to the stage with increased security measures. Anti-terror units are to be deployed in London.

After Taylor Swift’s (34) three Vienna concerts were cancelled due to the threat of terrorism, the singer is set to be back on stage in just a few days for the last shows of the European leg of her “Eras Tour” at London’s Wembley Stadium. The shows are set to take place as planned – and apparently with extraordinary security measures.

the concerts will be guarded by police officers and additional private security forces specializing in counterterrorism. This is partly a reaction to the foiled terrorist attack in Vienna, but also due to the ongoing protests in Great Britain. According to the report, Wembley Stadium is one of the safest in Europe from a counterterrorism perspective, but there are still concerns. Special attention will also be paid to protecting the thousands of Swifties who gather outside the stadium at many concerts.

In the Austrian capital Vienna, the promoter canceled all three of Taylor Swift’s concerts (8, 9 and 10 August) last week after two suspects were arrested who were reportedly planning a terrorist attack on the concerts this weekend.

London police: “Nothing” indicates danger

A spokesman for the London police recently also assured: “There is no indication that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have any impact on the upcoming events here in London.”

The five concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium (August 15 to 20) mark the end of the European part of Swift’s “Eras Tour”. In October and November, the Grammy winner will play several more shows in the USA and Canada. The tour started in March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.
