Ángel Salazar is dead. The actor, known from “Scarface” among other things, died on Sunday (11 August) at the age of 68. His spokeswoman and good friend Ann Wingsong confirmed his death. Ángel Salazar died in his sleep at a friend’s house in Brooklyn. The friend found the Cuban-American actor dead in bed that morning. A cause of death is not yet known, but Wingsong announced that Salazar had suffered from heart problems.
Ángel Salazar made his film debut in 1979 with a small role in the gangster film “Boulevard Nights”. His most famous role came four years later in a classic of this genre. Salazar was part of the cast of “Scarface” alongside Al Pacino (84). He played Chi Chi, one of the loyal henchmen of Pacino’s Cuban exile and gangster Tony Montana, aka Scarface.
