Zooey Deschanel (44) and Jonathan Scott (46) have been engaged for almost exactly a year. On August 11, the “New Girl” actress celebrated the fifth anniversary of their first date with the reality TV star. She honored her fiancé with a heartwarming message on .
In the personal post, Deschanel shares several photos with Scott that show moments from their life together – such as visits to restaurants and cafes or shots with her children from a previous relationship. “Five years ago today I was lucky enough to have a first date with this absolute dream man,” the actress wrote in the comment. “Here we are now and he still makes me smile every day.”
When will the wedding take place?
Shortly before the premiere of the new season of his TV show “Celebrity IOU”, in which Jonathan Scott can be seen with his twin brother Drew, he reports how the wedding planning is progressing: “I have no news. I wish I had more exciting news. We just got back from Europe. We just had our daughter’s birthday party, and then we had another event and a charity event,” he moans about the couple’s busy schedules. The two want to start planning soon, however.
For him, it would be his second marriage after his divorce from flight coordinator Kelsy Ully. Before her relationship with Jonathan, Deschanel was married to musician Ben Gibbard (48) from 2009 to 2012 and to film producer Jacob Pechenik (52) from 2015 to 2020. She shares her children Elsie (9) and Charlie (7) with the latter. Scott and Deschanel met in August 2019 while filming the US show “Carpool Karaoke”.
The renovators of the stars
The eighth season of Scott’s format “Celebrity IOU” will premiere on August 12th in the USA on HGTV – with “This Is Us” star Mandy Moore (40) among others. In the show, celebrities thank people who are important to them by renovating their homes. Brad Pitt (60) has also made an appearance. Scott himself can hardly believe which stars are back each year, he says.
