US singer Taylor Swift is back in Germany – as a wax figure. Three weeks after her performance on the “Eras” tour in Hamburg, fans can at least feel like they are very close to their idol again.
A selfie with Taylor Swift? What is usually only reserved for royals or other celebrities is now possible for every fan of the US singer: A new wax figure of the global star has been unveiled in the Panoptikum on the Reeperbahn.
Blue glitter sequin jumpsuit, shiny silver high boots and hands shaped like a heart: this is how the singer greets her fans in the wax museum. Berlin artist Lisa Büscher worked on the figure for seven months. “A particular challenge was designing her hands in the typical heart pose. Coordinating so that the hands meet well at the front was not easy,” said Büscher.
Swift next to Adele, Lindenberg – and Donald Trump
“With almost 300 million followers on Instagram and the insane hype she triggers in every city, Taylor Swift has definitely earned a place in our panopticon,” said managing director Susanne Faerber.
Taylor Swift is just one of many superstars in the tourist attraction in St. Pauli. In addition to the singer, there are already wax figures of Adele, Udo Lindenberg, Robbie Williams – and Donald Trump.
The Panoptikum claims to be Germany’s largest and oldest wax museum. Visitors can find more than 120 figures in its rooms.
