Katy Perry’s new music video for “Lifetimes” has caused anger among the Spanish authorities. She did not have permission to film.
No entry! This also applies to Katy Perry (39). The US singer may now have to deal with the Spanish authorities because she filmed some of her work in a nature reserve without permission. The Spanish newspaper “El País” is currently reporting on this.
In her new summer hit “Lifetimes,” Katy Perry dances on picturesque beaches, among other places. The singer recently released some making-of footage to coincide with the release of the song. The music video has been viewed more than 2.3 million times on YouTube.
No permission to shoot Katy Perry’s music video
According to the report, Perry filmed on Ibiza and Formentera. The track exudes holiday spirit and good cheer – but not among the authorities of the Balearic Islands. An investigation has been launched into whether filming could have caused environmental damage in a protected dune area. Perry can be seen in the video in the dune system of S’Espalmador – in a cordoned off area.
According to the environmental department of the regional government of the Balearic Islands, the production company responsible did not obtain a filming permit. However, the filming was not a “crime against the environment” but rather an administrative offence, since filming can very well be approved upon request.
