Life-threatening sepsis: Rapper Thomas D had to go to hospital

Thomas D, a member of the Fantastischen Vier, had to go to the emergency room on Tuesday. There has been no update on his health so far.

This mishap comes at the most inconvenient time: In the middle of his ongoing tour with the Hamburg jazz band The KBCS, Thomas D (55), legendary rapper of the Fantastischen Vier, had to go to the emergency room of a hospital yesterday, August 13th. How serious the situation is remains unclear.

The musician had already shown his fans a huge bump on his left arm that morning. At that point, he was apparently still in a joking mood and commented on his post with the words “Below the elbow. Something stung me yesterday. The insect should please contact me, otherwise I’ll be really angry.”

A few hours later, a video followed, this time from the emergency room of a hospital, in which he told his fans that he had been waiting for three hours to be examined by a doctor. After his wait was obviously over, his last sign of life followed. The musician was now seen with a black splint on the affected arm and gave the following update: “Fuck you… In an hour I’ll know what I have. But probably sepsis and an animal that stung the bursa, so we have to immobilize the arm now. Wow…”

Fans wait impatiently for the all-clear

Since Thomas D did not respond with a final diagnosis after this message, some fans may be starting to get worried. Sepsis, commonly known as blood poisoning, is not something to be taken lightly. This potentially life-threatening complication occurs in a wide variety of infectious diseases and occurs when the body’s own defense reactions to the infection damage its own tissues and organs.

It remains to be seen whether the story ends well for the singer, which is to be hoped. The fact that he immediately went to the emergency room may have prevented anything worse from happening. However, it is unlikely that Thomas D will be able to continue his current tour as planned. There is a date in Jena, Thuringia, tomorrow, August 15th, after which further appearances at festivals should follow.
