Murder of actor Johnny Wactor: Four suspected perpetrators arrested

Four people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor.

The Los Angeles Police Department is reporting progress in the murder investigation surrounding the death of actor Johnny Wactor (1986-2024). (formerly Twitter) officials announced that four suspects were arrested in Los Angeles on August 15. They are three 18-year-old men and one 22-year-old man.

“Early this morning, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Bureau Homicide executed search warrants in connection with the John Wactor case at several locations in Los Angeles,” the statement said. This resulted in three men being taken into custody on charges of homicide and the fourth on charges of aiding and abetting murder.

Only eleven days ago, officials in Los Angeles released surveillance camera images of the suspects and the stolen vehicle they are said to have been driving on the night of the crime.

Escalated theft

Johnny Wactor, who was best known for his role in the soap opera “General Hospital”, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in downtown Los Angeles on May 25th and died in hospital shortly afterwards. He was only 37 years old.

According to the investigation, Wactor and a colleague surprised four people in a bar in the early hours of the morning after his shift while attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his parked car. The fatal shots were then fired. The perpetrators were initially able to flee the scene undetected.
