Carolin Niemczyk and Daniel Grunenberg from Glasperlenspiel sealed their love with a romantic wedding in the south of France.
The Glasperlenspiel couple Carolin Niemczyk (34) and Daniel Grunenberg (35) are now husband and wife. and even show exclusive pictures from the wedding of the two musicians in the south of France. 41 guests attended the celebration in the village of Allan. The region has long been one of Niemczyk and Grunenberg’s dream destinations. The electropop duo even provided the music at their wedding themselves: “We had a great DJ and Daniel created a Spotify playlist with our personal favorite tracks in advance.” Songs from the 90s and 2000s were also included.
In October, when things calm down professionally after the summer festivals, the two will go on a honeymoon through Canada, Niemczyk continues – a very romantic trip just the two of them. The singer and the keyboard player both come from Lake Constance and met when they were teenagers. The two had already made music together before their Glasperlenspiel project. They have been a couple since 2006. The engagement was actually quite unglamorous, but rather unusual, as Niemczyk continues.
Application was made in Berlin’s KaDeWe
“For me, getting married always had something very grown-up about it and I was often not sure whether it was something for me,” says the singer. The proposal was calm and without kitsch: “One evening, when Daniel and I were sitting at the Italian restaurant on the sixth floor of the KaDeWe, the desire arose in me to say to Daniel: ‘I think I could imagine getting married now!'” He only thought about it for a moment and then said: “Then let’s go down to the ground floor and I’ll buy you a ring and we’ll get married!” Of course she said “yes”: “So we went down and he bought me a ring.”
