Anya Taylor-Joywho debuted in Netflix with the successful series Queen’s Gambitreturns to the streaming platform to star in a series adaptation of the best-selling novel Bella Mackie: “How to kill your family”.

In the eight-episode series, which was announced Wednesday at the Edinburgh Television Festival, Taylor-Joy will play the murderous protagonist Grace Bernard.

What is How to Kill Your Family about?

“Grace has a complicated family. Her father is Simon Artemis, a billionaire and ruthless careerist. She’s the product of an affair he claims he doesn’t remember and Grace and her mother were left to fend for themselves,” the synopsis reads. “When her mother dies and she’s shunned by the very people who should love her, Grace turns her anger into something useful: killing this estranged extended family through morbidly creative means. Grace weasels her way toward revenge and a sizable inheritance, but her mission only takes her further away from what she truly needs.”

How to Kill Your Family marks the first collaboration between Netflix and Sid Gentle Films Ltd (“Killing Eve”). Emma Moran (“Extraordinary”) is the head writer and executive producer, and Taylor-Joy also serves as executive producer for her production company LadyKiller Productions Inc. Sally Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger and Lee Morris are executive producers for Sid Gentle. Mackie is a co-executive producer.
