In the film adaptation of the Broadway musical “Wicked,” Ariana Grande plays the witch Glinda. During filming, she saw a man who gained insight from the set in an unusual way.
US pop star Ariana Grande reports an encounter with a paparazzo who was flying over the set as a hang glider during the filming of her “Wicked” movie. “I couldn’t believe my eyes,” explained the 31-year-old. “Well, firstly, because I don’t have the best eyesight. But secondly, because it doesn’t exist. It doesn’t exist!”
Fellow actor Jonathan Bailey (36) describes it like this: “It was a man on a giant kite, floating around with his legs dangling” – he had a camera on his feet.
Director Jon M. Chu had previously created a very intimate atmosphere on the set, says Grande: “It felt so small and private” – until the team was ripped out and the tabloid press hovered over the filming location.
In the film version of the successful Broadway musical “Wicked,” Grande plays the witch Glinda, Cynthia Erivo can be seen as the green witch Elphaba. Bailey plays her classmate Fiyero. The musical film is set to hit theaters in Germany in December.
