No rom-com happy ending for “Love Actually” star Martine McCutcheon: Husband Jack has separated from her after 18 years together.
Her best-known role is probably that of Natalie in the Christmas film “Love Actually”, in which she finds a happy ending with Hugh Grant’s (63) character. In real life, Martine McCutcheon (48) has now separated from her husband Jack McManus after 18 years together – or rather he from her. She shared this with her 620,000 followers on Thursday (22 August).
Separation was his decision
In a statement, she made it clear that the separation was apparently not her decision: “After much consideration, Jack has decided that it is best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision.”
McCutcheon goes on to say that they are both very grateful for their nine-year-old son Rafferty, and that his well-being is their top priority. “We are both looking forward to being parents to this wonderful boy for the rest of our lives,” the actress continued. It is a “difficult time,” but she wishes her estranged husband “all the love, happiness and joy for the next chapter of his life.”
Martine McCutcheon and Jack McManus, who works as a musician, met in London in the early 2000s; it was “love at first sight”. The couple married on Lake Como in Italy in 2012. Their son was born in 2015.
Two weeks ago she was still raving about him
Just yesterday, Wednesday, McCutcheon shared happy vacation photos in her story and announced: “Not a single cloud in the sky.” At the beginning of August, she congratulated her husband on his 40th birthday and shared several photos from their relationship. “You know I love you more than anything,” she wrote, among other things, but even then she spoke of a “next chapter.”
