According to a US report, jewelry was made from OJ Simpson’s ashes and divided among his children.
The children of the late OJ Simpson (1947-2024) have had jewelry made from their father’s ashes. Simpson’s long-time lawyer Malcolm LaVergne has now announced this.
According to the report, Simpson was cremated after his death in April. His four adult children Arnelle (55), Jason (54), Sydney (38) and Justin (36) agreed to have the deceased’s ashes converted into a selection of jewelry, which were then divided among Simpson’s children.
Simpson’s family announced in April that the former American football star and actor had died at the age of 76 from complications of cancer. “On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren,” the statement said.
The “trial of the century” against OJ Simpson
OJ Simpson was once one of the most famous athletes in the United States and was considered one of the greatest football stars of his time during his active career. He made several appearances in the “The Naked Gun” film series, alongside Leslie Nielsen (1926-2010).
Simpson gained international fame primarily through a criminal trial that is often referred to in the USA as the “trial of the century” and which has gone down in history. At the time, he was accused of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her acquaintance, Ronald Goldman. Simpson was acquitted in the spectacular trial in 1995, but was later sentenced in a civil case to pay damages totaling 33.5 million US dollars to the surviving relatives.
He also spent several years in prison at a later date. In 2008, Simpson was sentenced to a maximum of 33 years in prison for armed robbery, which was suspended after about nine years.
