The musical “Sapos secas” focuses on a man who creates a family constellation because he feels a hole that prevents him from being happy. From there, a network unfolds that brings moments (and tragedies) from the past. It is presented on Sundays at 5 pm at El Extranjero and has added performances on Tuesdays.

Since its premiere and with sold-out tickets, the musical about family constellations has been a hit “Dried toads”, whose title is based on a parable as poetic as it is ingenious and hilarious. With a theme like the family constellations At the center of the stage, the creator of this small-format musical, Pedro Velazquez, He first created a story about a family that, after he himself created a constellation and discovered the therapeutic magic of that path, added the question of constellations and added a new and powerful element to this show.

Conceived by Velazquez and beautiful music of Sebastian Aldea Davila (one of the high points of the show), It features solid performers, including, among others, Nacho De Santis like a scientist father who tries to protect his children until tragedy breaks out, Lucre Orlando like a terrible mother, anaesthetized with pills, who tries to rebuild the bond with her son, in a plot that includes witchcraft, Greek tragedies, the rain of toads of the title (just one of the metaphors with those reptiles), to try to heal the emptiness, the gap, in short, the lack of love.

Completing the cast: Nicolás Sousa, Lucila Louzan, Fer Martins, Gaby Genovese, Catalina Lemos, Nano Galarza, AIMY and Guido Savino.

The show is divided into three acts: “The Treetop,” which is the tip of the iceberg; “The Trunk of the Matter,” where the conflicts begin to unravel (or become entangled); and finally, “The Root of Everything,” where the trauma is buried. It is presented every Sunday at 5 p.m. at El Extranjero, and they have added performances on Tuesdays.

The fashion of family constellations has several exponents in theatre and series. That work is still remembered “Constellations”, of Nick Payne, which was a success around the world and was presented for three seasons at El Camarín de las Musas under the direction of Teresa Constantini. It dealt with the love story between a beekeeper and a scientist, which extended to the reunion in parallel universes and the human desire to go back in time to change decisions.

In that line of parallel times and repeated patterns “Outlander” leaves several questions to associate with family constellations. “My other self” is a Turkish series available on Netflix that tells the story of three friends with different lives, focusing on one of them, diagnosed with cancer, who, given the impossibility of medicine to provide solutions, appeals to family constellations to bet on healing.

The aim of this therapy is to discover whether patterns of behaviour “inherited” from the family are being repeated in order to heal and reverse them, as well as treat health problems. In the series, the friends confront traumas from the past and make decisions that affect their present and future.

“Constellations” It is the first documentary series about family constellations that addresses issues such as heartbreak, fears, relationship conflicts, loss and grief, all of which are very present in the aforementioned “Dried toads”. In each chapter of the documentary series, a consultant will expose his pain and a group of representatives who will help the constellator to untie those knots. It is worth remembering that family constellations are a therapeutic tool spread by the German Bert Hellinger during the last century, which aims to free individuals from their fears, shortcomings, difficult destinies, traumas, illnesses or problematic relationships.
