A second life for Brooke Shields’ wedding dress from 1997: Daughter Grier wore the dress to her graduation.
A special occasion calls for a special outfit. And Grier Hammond Henchy (18) doesn’t have to look any further than her mother’s closet: For her high school graduation, the daughter of actress Brooke Shields (59) wore her wedding dress – the one from her first marriage to tennis player Andre Agassi (54), whom she married in 1997.
“It’s such an honor”
that they had to make a few adjustments to the dress. She divorced Agassi in 1999, but the dress still has meaning. “He’s a good guy and for me it was like a big full-circle moment,” said the 59-year-old. “She looked great in it,” enthused the mother of two daughters. “It’s such an honor when they want to wear your clothes. They don’t usually think I’m cool.” She is happy when her daughters breathe new life into their old clothes.
Shields’ eldest daughter Rowan (21) also wore a dress from her mother’s closet for her prom in 2021. For the ball, she chose a red robe that Brooke Shields wore to the Golden Globes in 1998.
Shields’ daughters come from her marriage to author Chris Henchy (60), whom she married in 2001. Rowan was born in May 2003 and Grier in April 2006. Both are studying at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
