In mid-July, the stepdaughter of Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash (59) died at the age of just 25. The musician then interrupted his current tour. It is now known what Lucy-Bleu Knight, the daughter of his partner Meegan Hodges, died of.
According to the British “Mirror”, the Los Angeles County coroner classified the 25-year-old’s death as a suicide in a report published on Thursday (29 August). The officials stated that they found Lucy-Bleu Knight unresponsive during a welfare check at a private address on 19 July. She was declared dead at 3 p.m. local time.
“My heart is broken forever”
Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, shared the sad news of his stepdaughter’s death on July 22. He simply wrote that she died “peacefully.” “Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovable and gentle soul,” Slash continued. He asked for privacy for the family and that “speculation on social media be kept to a minimum.”
A few days later, Slash shared a selfie of his stepdaughter with his 4.3 million followers and wrote: “My heart is forever broken. I will never stop missing you and remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity and beauty you always were and still are.” She was “the brightest light in the lives of so many who loved you so much.” “I find comfort in the hope that you are now at peace. I will love you forever.”
She shared an emotional farewell letter
Her Instagram profile shows that Lucy-Bleu Knight was probably active as a painter and tattoo artist. There, Knight posted heartbreaking words three days after her death: “Whether I made you feel left out, manipulated/controlled you, told you to quit your job while I was financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity – I am sorry. Countless missed opportunities and relationships due to a disgustingly large ego, an insecure heart, and the fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve.”
Lucy-Bleu Knight’s mother Meegan Hodges met Slash in the late 1980s, at the height of his career with Guns N’ Roses. After a break, the couple got back together in 2015. It is not known whether the two are married.
