When he comes, she’s already gone again: The fact that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are both presenting a new film at this year’s Venice Film Festival is making headlines. The organizers wanted to avoid a possible meeting between the estranged ex-couple at all costs – and they succeeded. “It’s impossible for them to run into each other on the Lido,” festival director Alberto Barbera told Vanity Fair magazine. ““Lido” is the name of an island off Venice. The event will take place there.
Jolie’s work “Maria”, in which she plays opera singer Maria Callas, premiered on the second day of the festival. The 49-year-old shone on the red carpet in a light robe with a fur stole and revealed in advance that she had prepared for the role for seven months. “The first time I sang, I was so nervous. My sons were there and helped me lock the door so that no one else could come in, and I was shaking,” she said.
Brad Pitt’s new film “Wolfs”, in which he can be seen alongside his friend George Clooney, will be shown in Venice on September 1st. Angelina Jolie is already far away again: she wants to travel to the film festival in Telluride, Colorado with director Pablo Larraín to present “Maria” there.
