After her moving appearance in Venice, Angelina Jolie has mastered another promotional event for her film “Maria”. On Saturday (August 31) she appeared at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, where the film by Chilean director Pablo Larraín celebrated its North American premiere after its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Jolie, who is “on the hunt for a second Oscar” with the leading role of opera singer Maria Callas (1923-1977), appeared in an elegant gray dress with wide sleeves and combined it with brown pointed pumps and black statement sunglasses. At the premiere, she posed with other celebrities such as Naomi Watts (55) and Martha Stewart (83).

Jolie presented the biopic in Venice last Thursday. She was unusually emotional: after an eight-minute standing ovation for her portrayal of the opera singer, Jolie had tears in her eyes. The actress is said to have traveled on directly after the premiere – thus avoiding an awkward reunion with her ex-husband.

For Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon, who have now been together for around two years, it was their first joint appearance on the red carpet.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt married in 2014 and have been separated for years. She filed for divorce in September 2016, and a bitter divorce has been raging ever since. A judge declared the former couple legally single in 2019, but media reports say there are still disputes in the divorce proceedings. The former acting couple have six children together: Shiloh (18), Zahara (19), Pax (20), Maddox (23) and twins Knox and Vivienne (16).
