Argentina is a country that welcomes with open arms those who decide to reside in our territory, that is why we celebrate this date.
Every September 4th, National Immigrant Day is celebrated in our country. For this reason, the Secretariat for Human Rights promotes the integration of migrants and refugees in the country. In line with this, on June 25, 2021, the “Integration Center for Migrants and Refugees” was inaugurated, a reference space for the promotion of human rights.

This center provides guidance, support and advice for the immigration regularization procedures and procedures related to access to rights for national citizens. Courses and workshops on labour integration and cultural activities for the inclusion of migrants and refugees are also held.

Why is Immigrant Day celebrated every September 4th?
This commemoration has existed since 1949, when Juan Domingo Perón established decree number 21,430 declaring September 4 as National Immigrant Day. The date arises in honor of the day on which the The First Triumvirate signed the decree that promoted in our country the reception of “individuals of all nations” and their families who wish to establish their residence in the territory.”
For this reason, September 4 is a day to celebrate those who decided to become part of our country and show them that Argentina is an immigration-friendly territory, as it has been since its beginnings.
