Hollywood star Michael Keaton would like to incorporate his real name Michael John Douglas into his stage name in the future. Last year he actually wanted to be credited as Michael Keaton Douglas in a new film, the 72-year-old told the US magazine “People”. He then “completely forgot” to pass on this wish in time. “But it will happen,” he clarified.
When Keaton wanted to register with the actors’ association in the 1970s, there was already a Michael Douglas in Hollywood. The “Beetlejuice” star says he doesn’t know exactly how he came up with the name Keaton. He leafed through something for inspiration – “I don’t remember if it was a phone book,” he said. When he heard the name Keaton, he thought, “Oh, that sounds reasonable.”
On September 12th, Tim Burton’s horror comedy “Beetlejuice” with Keaton in the lead role will be released in German cinemas. On the posters for the film, the Hollywood star is still listed as Michael Keaton.
