Robbie Williams and Ayda Field have lost their dogs Poupette and Walle. Both had accompanied the couple for many years.
Robbie Williams (50) and his wife, Ayda Field (45), are mourning the loss of their two dogs, Poupette and Walle. In a post by Fields that was published, the actress talks about the dogs, who also played an important role in the couple’s wedding around 14 years ago.
Along with pictures of the animals, Field opens the long post from September 5 with the words: “Today our dogs Poupette and Walle left this planet to begin an adventure in an infinite galaxy far, far away.” The two dogs died together in bed – surrounded by immense love while listening to the ABBA song “Dancing Queen”.
Poupette had been with Ayda Field for 18 years
Field says that Poupette came to her 18 years ago: “From the day we met, she was my soul mate. I was a single girl and with Poupette I was suddenly a ‘single mother’.” Everyone who knew her called Poupette Fields’ “shadow” because the dog never left her side. “It’s strange how you can share so much with a being who can’t communicate in the same language as you. But that’s the beauty of unconditional love… it doesn’t need words,” writes the actress.
A good six months later, the now 45-year-old met her future husband, who had three large dogs at the time. She made it clear straight away that she and Poupette would only be together. But he also immediately fell in love with the dog. A year later, the two decided to adopt another dog and Walle joined the family. From the beginning, there was no doubt that this was “the boy for us”. And when the couple married in 2010, Poupette became her maid of honour, while Walle was his best man. Field also attached a photo from the wedding, which also shows all of her other dogs.
Your witnesses celebrate an after-party in the afterlife
Poupette and Walle have been there for the couple all these years and have witnessed, among other things, the birth of four children, several tours and all the ups and downs that life has had in store for Williams and Field since then. All of the dogs pictured in the picture, their best men and maids of honor, have died over the years, only Poupette and Walle were still there at the end.
The couple recently renewed their wedding vows – and just like 14 years ago, Poupette and Walle were there too. She believes that the two of them held out for so long for their “mommy” and “dad.” Now “the last members of the wedding party […] leaving us, but knowing Poupette and Walle, they’re going to throw a massive after-party.”
For the first time in 18 years, Field will not have her “shadow” with her or be greeted at the door by her dogs. She will cry and take the next few days to process the loss.
At the end of the post, she addresses the dogs directly once again: “Poupette and Walle, you have seen me grow from a girl into a woman and supported me throughout my adult life. I love you with all my heart. May you rest and play together, forever, and tell me all about it when I see you again.”
