In three weeks, Milk & Serial has racked up over half a million views and has made its way into horror film discussions on Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok.

The filmmaker and comedian Curry Barker He is responsible for the unexpected horror success that is sweeping the YouTube, Milk & Seriala 62-minute film that cost just $800 to make.

Barker directs and co-stars alongside Cooper Tomlinson the film, but also writes, produces, edits, composes and signs the photography.

What is Milk & Serial about?

The plot is simple but effective: after a joke goes wrong during a birthday party, two popular social media pranksters face terrifying consequences in an escalating crisis situation.

It is so effective that the film has quickly gone viral and made headlines. Also, specialized critics have praised the talent of its creators to take advantage of the scarce resources they had and make a more than worthy bet within the horror genre.

Barker and Tomlinson released the entire film on YouTube on August 8 via that’s a bad idea, the social media account where they share their sketches. In three weeks, Milk & Serial has racked up 546,000 views (as of September 3) and has made its way into horror movie discussions on Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok.

Despite its extremely low budget and the inevitable limitations that this entails, the film has made it onto more than one list of the best horror films of the year, all thanks to the talent and ingenuity of its creators.
