From the end of 2022, The Mondongo & Coliflor restaurant offers a cuisine centered on substantial Argentine dishes, prepared right there in its premises in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Parque Chacabuco.

With Arnaldo Roperti, Jose Villar, Quique Yafuso and Cabito Massa Alcantara At the forefront, the project presents itself as a traditional porteño cantina, with homely, quality dishes in portions to share, at friendly prices, so that a wide audience can enjoy a hearty lunch or dinner. In short, a place that breaks with the stereotypes of modern local gastronomy, based on two premises: simple and popular.

About the restaurant

Mondongo & Coliflor is located on an emblematic corner with 100 years of gastronomic history, since there were already other restaurants and taverns there. As for the ambiance of the place, its decoration is dominated by white and green, with wooden elements, which generates a cozy and comfortable feeling. The team of @ivibullshit and @peli_, in collaboration with the owners, was in charge of the design, which aims to preserve both the old architecture and its aesthetics to preserve the original tavern essence of the space. The place is organized in a main room and a double sidewalk given the corner location, with iron and wood tables and chairs, with a capacity to accommodate up to 70 diners.

What to order

The menu at Mondongo & Coliflor now includes in its starter section creations such as provoleta M&C, served with arugula, candied tomato and bacon, as well as house classics such as tripe and knife-cut meat empanadas, tongue in vinaigrette and pickled aubergines.

In the main dishes section, options such as their characteristic tripe stew, roast beef with potatoes and sweet potatoes and the classic XL-sized veal and chicken Milanese to share are currently on offer. In addition, a new dish has now been added, braised pork ossobuco, cooked for 8 hours and served with aligot, a mashed potato strung with cheese. As for their homemade pasta offering, they have their usual spinach noodles, cauliflower sorrentinos, portobello mushrooms and gouda cheese, along with vegetable lasagna with ricotta, ham and mozzarella, another new addition from the cantina.

The menu at Mondongo & Coliflor also features grill options, from typical cuts such as asado banderita, entraña and bife de chorizo, as well as a grill to share, which can be accompanied with side dishes ranging from French fries and mashed potatoes to sweet potato with butter, baked pumpkin with olive oil and parsley, and cauliflower au gratin. The menu also includes a large selection of XL sandwiches on sourdough ciabatta bread, with options such as Milanese (with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise), pork shoulder (with cheese and caramelized onion), bife de chorizo ​​(with chimichurri mayonnaise) and Caesar chicken (with Caesar dressing, lettuce and parmesan).

Finally, Mondongo & Coliflor offers traditional desserts, such as flan or mixed bread pudding (with dulce de leche and cream), vigilante and Martín Fierro (sweet potato or quince with cuartirolo cheese), almond, creme brulée and chocolate mousse, a new addition to the menu.

To accompany the chosen dishes, they have a wide variety of drinks, with soft drinks, aperitifs, beers and various labels of red and white wines. In addition, they invite local residents to enjoy their special lunch proposal, which changes every lunchtime and consists of a main course, a dessert and a drink.
