Former talk show host Andreas Türck: New job as handball presenter

Andreas Türck has landed a new job – he will be a handball presenter. He has had a long-standing passion for the sport.

Former talk show host Andreas Türck (55) will soon be celebrating his comeback as a presenter. The live streaming service Dyn, based in Cologne, has announced in a press release that it has secured the services of the 55-year-old. His first appearance is already scheduled for next Sunday: On the second match day of the Daikin Handball Bundesliga, Türck will be presenting the match between HSV Hamburg and SC Magdeburg (September 15, broadcast starts at 2:45 p.m.).

It is no coincidence that Andreas Türck is a handball presenter – in the late 80s and early 90s he was an active handball player himself. First for the then second division team TuS Eintracht Wiesbaden, before he moved to the Bundesliga with SG Wallau/Massenheim in the 1990/1991 season. However, just one year later he ended his active career and started a career in TV shortly afterwards.

But he always remained true to his passion, as he reveals in a statement about his involvement with Dyn: “I have played handball myself since I was a child, and even after I moved into the media world, this sport never let go of me. Now being active in the handball environment again, this time in the role of moderator, almost feels like coming home.”

From radio to ProSieben

Türck first earned his spurs as a presenter on the radio. He then moved to RTL and ZDF before moving to ProSieben, where he presented the talk show “Andreas Türck” from 1998 to 2002. His second major engagement was with kabel eins, where he worked as a presenter of the television magazine “Abenteuer Leben” from 2013 to 2017.

The sports channel Dyn is still relatively new on the market. It was founded as a start-up around two and a half years ago and began broadcasting in August 2023. According to the company, the aim is to give a platform to sports that receive too little attention alongside the popular football. In addition to handball, these include basketball, volleyball and hockey.
