Suspected sex trade: Jury selection in the trial against rapper Combs is running

The jury selection in the trial against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs due to allegations of sex crimes could end on Wednesday. According to a report by the US broadcaster ABC News, 35 potential jurors were already in pre-selection on Tuesday evening (local time). In the end, a twelve -member jury and additional replacement sworn must be determined from a pool of 45 women and men. The opening plea in the procedure is planned for May 12th. The trial against Combs started in New York this week.

Among other things, candidates were asked whether they or a family member had ever been exposed to sexual or domestic violence, the newspaper USA today reported. A candidate was rejected due to marijuana consumption, it said. Combs attended the survey of the possible jurors from the lawyers of charges and defense in the courtroom.

In custody since September

Combs has been in custody since mid -September. He is accused of the public prosecutor’s office, organized crime and other offenses. If he was convicted, he threatens a lifelong prison sentence. In addition to the indictment of the New York public prosecutor, there are also numerous civil lawsuits against the rapper. Among other things, a law firm in Houston’s Texan’s Huston is represented by around 120 people with allegations against Combs.

So far, the rapper rejected all allegations and did not guilty. Among other things, his lawyers argued in advance that Combs had lived a “swinger lifestyle” and might not have been completely accountable by drugs. The trial in New York could take several weeks or even months.
