A stroke of fate for Norwegian football professional Erling Haaland. The Manchester City star mourns the loss of a long-time companion.
Norwegian football superstar Erling Haaland (24) is mourning the loss of his long-time companion and close friend Ivar Eggja. His compatriot, who accompanied the Manchester City star’s career from the very beginning, has died at the age of just 59, as Haaland’s agent confirmed to the Norwegian newspaper. The cause of death is not yet known.
Erling Haaland mourns “legend”
On his Instagram channel, Haaland shared several , showing him together with Eggja. He wrote emotional words: “What a legend you are, Ivar. Words cannot describe how much you meant to me! Words cannot describe how much you will be missed! Don’t worry about it anymore! Don’t worry about it anymore! That’s exactly what I will do. Thank you for everything, you madman. Until we meet again.”
Haaland’s team mourns with him
Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta (51), another member of the football star’s team, made public her grief for the childhood friend of Haaland’s father Alf-Inge Haaland (51). The Brazilian football agent also posted photos of Eggja and wrote: “Ever since I first met you, I thought your power was to make any room laugh. I didn’t know that it was actually a superpower and that you had to go through so much in such a short time, in a way that is the best example of strength, dignity, tolerance and optimism that family and friends can only dream of. It was an honor to be a small part of your journey.”
Pimentas seems to be referring to a short, serious illness of Haaland’s companion. Her comment continues: “We will miss you very much, although I know that you will not leave us – you are simply too stubborn for that. We will always hear from you when we toast with wine, laugh at rude jokes and cheer at games.”
