An unexpected hero: Jon Bon Jovi stopped a woman from jumping off a bridge

Jon Bon Jovi became an unlikely hero yesterday when he stopped a woman from jumping off the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville.

The singer was filming the video for his song People’s House and intervened just in time to save a life.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shared the images captured by security cameras and there the musician can be seen approaching the woman as she appeared to be about to jump.

Bon Jovi then spoke to the lady along with another person who was passing by. After some convincing, the interpreter and the man helped the woman climb over the railing and out of harm’s way.

Once out of harm’s way, the rock legend and the woman embraced. According to The New York Post, the bridge was completely open to the public when the artist was filming the video and the incident occurred later.

After clarifying that Bon Jovi would not make any statements, the American portal indicated that a source consulted said that the rocker did what any person who found themselves in that situation would have done: offer a hand to the person in need.

The Nashville Fire Department and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department arrived on the scene shortly after Bon Jovi’s heroic action.

Metropolitan Nashville Police Department Chief John Drake praised the songwriter in a “message” he posted on X. “We must all help each other stay safe”he sentenced.
