Heinz Hoenig has been in hospital for many weeks. His wife Annika now had another shock. The fire brigade arrived.
After a fire service operation at the end of last week, Heinz Hoenig’s (72) wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39) once again escaped with a fright. After the helpers arrived, she spent the night in the hospital with her husband. There had been a fire near their apartment.
At around 9 p.m. on September 7, Kärsten-Hoenig looked out of the window and noticed “that a fire had broken out in the side building.” “I immediately left the apartment and ran to the snack bar in the building.” The 39-year-old and other residents were evacuated by the fire brigade: “At first I didn’t know where to go. All my things were in the apartment.”
Heinz Hoenig and Annika Kärsten-Hoenig have been married since 2019. The couple’s two young sons were fortunately with their grandparents at the time of the incident. Kärsten-Hoenig eventually went to the hospital to see her husband, where she spent the night in a chair next to the 72-year-old. The fire was extinguished in the meantime. Luckily, the flames did not spread to the rear building and Kärsten-Hoenig was able to return to the apartment the next day.
How Heinz Hoenig is doing now
Hoenig has been in hospital for several months. The actor, who had his esophagus removed in another operation after an infection and an operation, recently had an artificial respiration access closed, according to the report. “Now he can finally breathe through his mouth and nose again and speak normally again. He no longer needs oxygen at the moment,” reports Kärsten-Hoenig. He is currently still waiting for an operation on his aorta. According to her, this operation is necessary for her husband “in order to get healthy at all. […] However, the implementation depends on how quickly Heinz recovers and his condition stabilizes.”
