In a TV interview, Ralf Schumacher spoke in detail about his coming out and his relationship with Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne.
Former racing driver Ralf Schumacher made headlines when he came out. Now that the excitement has died down a bit, he and his partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne are speaking on the RTL show “Explosiv Weekend” about what makes their relationship special and how they dealt with the turmoil. “It wasn’t easy for me,” says Bousquet-Cassagne. “Because I’m not well-known, I’m not a racing driver, I’m not an actor, I’m not a singer. I wasn’t ready for that.”
Making his relationship with Étienne and thus his homosexuality public was Ralf’s decision, but he still fully supports his partner, Bousquet-Cassagne reveals in an interview with RTL presenter Frauke Ludowig: “I support Ralf, of course, but it was a surprise and I was a bit scared. It’s also a bit frightening. But now, a few weeks later, I feel a bit better. And maybe this moment is the best moment for this interview.”
Ralf Schumacher is happy with Étienne
The two have been a couple for two years now. And Schumacher says: “I’m happier than ever before!” Why is that? “I mean, we are very similar in character, very conservative, very quiet, very pleasant. We have the same interests,” said Schumacher in an interview with Frauke Ludowig. The couple also revealed how Schumacher’s son David took up their relationship and how the relationship with Ralf’s ex-wife Cora Schumacher has changed.
