Sean “Diddy” Combs: Intensive surveillance in prison

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been in custody since the beginning of the week. He is reportedly under intensive observation in prison.

According to “People” magazine, Sean “Diddy” Combs (54) is allegedly under strict observation in prison to rule out a possible suicide by the rapper. The former music star is awaiting trial at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Anonymous sources explained, according to the report, that the intensive observation is merely “a preventive measure” because Combs is said to be in shock.

Combs was arrested in a Manhattan hotel on Monday night (September 16). The next day, the indictment against the 54-year-old was unveiled. The charges against him include sex trafficking and organized crime. Combs pleaded not guilty.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was denied bail twice

He was taken into custody on Tuesday, and the court has already denied him bail twice this week. As Deadline reported, in a nearly two-hour hearing in a New York courtroom, Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky agreed with the US Attorney’s argument that Combs poses a danger to the public and especially to potential witnesses against him.

During a court hearing, his lawyer asked a judge to transfer the music mogul to a prison in Essex County, New Jersey, according to media reports. In their motion to grant Combs bail, his lawyers also wrote that “several courts in this county have recognized that the conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center are not suitable for pretrial detention.” The prison is allegedly considered to be particularly dangerous.

Combs’ arrest and indictment had been expected since federal authorities searched the music mogul’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami on March 25.
