Thomas Gottschalk and his wife Karina presented themselves as a married couple for the first time in Munich and reported on their wedding.
Thomas Gottschalk and his new wife Karina appeared together at a public event on Thursday for the first time since their wedding.
He in a suit with a bow tie, she in a long silver dress with shoulder pads, the two made their first appearance as a married couple holding hands. “Of course there were several ways to introduce Karina to society in Munich, but opera is close to both of our hearts.” In Munich, the two took part in the stage dinner at the Bavarian State Opera and also reported on their intimate wedding.
The couple said “I do” on 23 August in Ibiza in a very small setting. The bride said in an interview that it was her wish that the wedding be so small. “I think I’ve been a maid of honour five or six times in my life and every time it was a total stress for the bride and groom,” she said. “And I said: If I get married now, I want to enjoy every minute with you, from the first to the last second, and then that can only be done on a very small scale.”
Thomas Gottschalk: Small incident because of a cat
There was a minimum of stress at the wedding, as Karina, who according to “Bild” took her husband’s last name, also revealed. Her big performance did not go as planned – due to a cat that got lost.
The animal suddenly came out of a bush and got tangled in Karina’s train just as she was about to walk towards her future husband, so that the bride couldn’t move. “Then I sat down on the ground, got the cat out, put it back in the bush and then I set off – but I think it was ten minutes later than planned,” said the newlywed Gottschalk, laughing.
