Kathryn Crosby, the widow of US star Bing Crosby, has died at the age of 90. A spokesman for her family announced this.
The actress and singer Kathryn Crosby (1933-2024) is dead. The widow of the US great Harry Lillis “Bing” Crosby (1903-1977) died last Friday (September 20) at the age of 90 of natural causes in her home in Hillsborough, California. The Crosby family announced this through a spokesperson.
Kathryn Crosby, who also appeared as Kathryn Grant or Kathryn Grandstaff, began her career in Hollywood in the early 1950s. Her biggest films include “Sinbad’s Seventh Voyage” (1958), “The Duel at Dawn” (1958) and “Anatomy of a Murder” (1959). She also appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s (1899-1980) “Rear Window” (1954) at the beginning of her career, but only in an unlisted extra role.
Family instead of career
At the same time, she had met the singer and actor Bing Crosby, who was 30 years older than her. The two married in 1957 and had three children. In the following years, Kathryn Crosby only appeared in public sporadically, mostly on her famous husband’s television shows. Even his death did not change that: Bing Crosby suddenly collapsed during a round of golf in Spain in 1977. The cause of death was later given as heart failure.
