Swedish musician Björn Ulvaeus has married his girlfriend Christina Sas in Copenhagen. It is the third marriage for the ABBA star.
In its early days, the Swedish band ABBA was not only known for its countless super hits, but also for being made up of two happy married couples. At the time, Björn Ulvaeus (79) was in a relationship with Agnetha Fältskog (74), while Benny Andersson (77) was married to Anni-Frid Lyngstad (78). Even though both marriages later fell apart, the four Scandinavian superstars have remained musically and as friends to this day.
After separating from Agnetha Fältskog in 1980, Ulvaeus married for the second time the following year. The marriage to Lena Källersjö lasted much longer and lasted over 40 years until it too came to an end in 2022.
Dream wedding in Copenhagen
As the ABBA star announced today, September 22nd, he tied the knot for the third time yesterday Saturday. Under a photo from the wedding day, which shows him in a chic black suit and his new wife Christina Sas (52) in a green dress, the musician revealed that the celebrations took place “in Copenhagen in the presence of close friends and family”.
Back in 2023, Ulvaeus had already raved about the new woman at his side and called her his “third great love”. His Instagram post about the wedding reveals more details about how they met. It says: “They met in Nuremberg in 2021 on the occasion of the release of Abba’s last album ‘Voyage’ and started dating in spring 2022.”
