Demi Moore talks about Hollywood’s body cult

“I would nurse her all night, get up in the dark on a trainer. And then I would cycle all the way to Paramount and sometimes even to the set where we were filming; then I would film for a whole day, which is usually a 12-hour day, and then I would start all over again,” Moore says. The journalist the actress spoke to for the interview reacted with shock. The distance from Moore’s home at the time to the studios is about 30 miles (48 kilometers). All of this to strengthen her body. “I experienced being told to lose weight. And while all of these experiences were embarrassing and humiliating, I did something to myself because of it,” explains Bruce Willis’ ex-wife. “Just the idea of what I did to my body is so crazy, so ridiculous,” she says. Today she knows that her weight at the time wasn’t actually that important. “But at the time it meant everything to me,” says Moore.
